When the Tabernacle was set up as a place of worship for God, it had two parts: the holy place and the holy of holies. Identify the major items in each room (Hebrews 9:1-5).
Hebrews 9:6-10 outlines the regulations for worship (Hebrews 9:6-7). However, three limitations can be identified in this worship system.

1. Restricted access to God’s presence (Hebrews 9:6-8). Other priests carry out their daily duties in the holy place; only the high priest can enter the holy of holies, God’s presence. He does that only once a year on the Day of Atonement with blood to atone for his sins and the sins of the people. Only in Christ has access been granted to all (Matthew 27:50-51; Ephesians 2:18; Hebrews 10:19-20).

2. Partial cleansing from sin (Hebrews 9:9-10; cf. Hebrews 9:13-14). The sacrifices could only achieve outward cleansing but could not clear the conscience of the guilt of sin. The better covenant in Christ offered complete cleansing. 3. Limited pardon of sin (Hebrews 9:7). The Day of Atonement could cater only for sins of ignorance but not for sins and offenses done deliberately. Only in Christ do we obtain full pardon and made righteous (Hebrews 8:12, Hebrews 12:23).

And So
What are some things people do or think can give them unlimited access to God apart from the sacrifice of Christ?
